Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |

8mm (long) x 8.5mm (wide) saucer-shaped beads with flutes (grooves) on the side and facets around the outer edge. |
Colors/description: |
Very dark translucent purple. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
I haven't noticed any defects; but with so much going on (flutes, facets), there is bound to be a flute or facet that isn't perfectly form. |
How photographed: |
Under two daylight-balanced lamps. Note: Using lamps leaves two bright spots on each bead -- especially on round beads -- but that can't be helped. |
Comments: |
Right out of the box, these beads were a little disappointing. They are so dark that they look black. It is only when I hold them up to a light that I can see the purple color. (The supplier's picture wasn't accurate: It showed the beads looking dark purple.) Now, I have looked at the beads only in artificial light at night, so it's possible that they look more purple in daylight. (If it turns out that that's true, I'll mention it here.) |
