Glass beads (probably white) with a non-synthetic lavender purple coating. The beads vary from a lavender purple to a reddish amethyst purple. To vary the color, I believe that the manufacturer applied a purple iris coating over the lavender color. |

I haven't seen any defects; the beads appear to be in good shape. |

I am a sucker for opaque lavender; I think these beads are gorgeous. Unfortunately, my picture came out all wrong. The lavender color was too intense (i.e., saturated) and not reddish enough. I had to do a lot of adjusting in my photo-editing program. I think I got the color close to being accurate, but it may not be perfectly accurate. |
