Cut Crystal

None of the beads in this category are fire-polished. For those who don't know, fire-polished beads are pulled through an oven to make the surface of the beads shiny, but the process results in less-perfect facets than what I call "crystal" beads, which have buffed facets.

Up until mid-2015, all the beads in this category were Czech Preciosa-brand crystal beads, but in late 2015 I started to add Chinese faceted beads. The Chinese do not use the fire-polishing process, and the facets on their beads appear to be buffed, so I am putting them in this category. However, Chinese faceted beads are not as perfect as Preciosa beads, so I hate to mix them in the same category; but I don't seem to have a choice. Either that or I mix them with the fire-polished beads, but they are more-perfect than fire-polished beads. Eventually I will put Chinese crystal beads in their own category.
