6mm round, faceted.

Colors/description:

Translucent alexandrite.  Alexandrite beads are usually light blue in fluorescent light, and rosy pink in incandescent light and sunlight.  However, these beads have a much deeper color.  They range from crimson red or fuchsia to light blue with hints of crimson.  On top of that is a gold/brown celsian coating.  I think they are spectacular.

Hole size:

1mm (estimated).

Defects:

I haven't noticed any significant defects.  However, fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets.  To read about the fire-polishing process, click here.

Comments:

As I state above, the color of these beads is much, much deeper than alexandrite usually is.  Please read my comments about the color, above.  Even before I run out, I'm going to order more of these beads, because I think they are so nice.
