Comments:

Silver beads are hard to photograph, and there are a lot of reflections in my photo above.  Below is the supplier's picture for comparison's sake.  I do not know if there is actually any silver used in the production of these beads.  Given the price, I doubt it.  However, feel fairly confident that the surface is some kind of metal, and I believe it is heat-treated (fire-polished) to make it durable (but I'm not certain of that). 
The last time I posted these (December, 2011), I increased the lot size from 50 to 100 and lowered the price.  For reasons I don't understand, these beads are fairly cheap.  The supplier hasn't raised their price in a long time, which makes me think they are due for an increase.
