2x4mm Siam Ruby Red Rondelle Beads [100]
Style: G1823
Beads per lot: 100
Cost per bead: 2.8 cents
Bead material: Glass
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Size/shape: 2mm (thick) x 4mm (wide) tire-shaped (or disk-shaped) beads, with the hole through the center. In the new batch, some of the beads are slightly darker than other beads, as if they had mixed two runs of beads together. Frankly, I like it, since it gives the beads more character.
Colors/description: Translucent bright red. Siam red is the bright red that you see in Chinese silk robes; it is brighter than fire-engine red.
Hole size: 1mm (estimated).
Defects: The beads appear to be in good shape, although very small beads are prone to malformations (meaning that an occasional bead may be malformed).
How photographed: At the window in natural daylight.
Comments: For a very long time (years!) these beads were posted with a picture that was much too dark. I think that's because the first batch I bought was actually darker than subsequent batches. I have remedied that with my new picture -- however, my new picture may actually be a smidgen too light and bright (even so, it is more accurate than the old picture). Digital cameras don't photograph red very well, so even though the new picture is improved, it's a little fuzzy and indistinct compared to the actual beads.
