Colors/description:
|
Glass beads (probably white) with a lustrous very-light blue synthetic coating. The coating looks as much like silver as it does like blue.

Hole size:
|
1mm (estimated). |

Defects: |
The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it is. Some of the coating may be missing from around the holes of a few pearls, or there may be some roughness in the coating around the holes. Sometimes there are little sharp tags of coating sticking out from around the holes; the best way to remove them is with cuticle nippers. There may also be some anomalies in the coating, such as bumps, indentations or a bit of dirt. Because pearls are lustrous, defects generally aren't visible to the naked eye, but may be seen under a magnifying glass. |

At the window in natural daylight. |

Comments: |
I'm not happy with these beads. The blue color is so light that it is barely identifiable as blue. Actually, they look as much like silver as they do blue. Sometimes I like colors that are very subtle like this, but not in this case. The color doesn't have enough character. (Of course, you might feel differently.) To make matters worse, the beads are expensive because the supplier raised the price dramatically.
