Price Per Lot: $1.00
Lots Available: 13
Style No. (bin): G2095 (aia)

Style: G2095
Beads per lot: 100
Cost per bead: 1/2 cent
Bead material: Glass
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Size/shape: Rectangular cylinders that are 3mm thick and 4mm wide.  The length is from about 2mm to about 6mm, with most of them being around 3mm or 4mm.  As indicated, the beads vary in size, and they appear to have been broken into small pieces, so all their ends are jagged (but not sharp -- they were apparently tumbled after they were broken).
Colors/description: Translucent dark red with blue-lined holes.  Through the red glass, the blue in the holes just looks black.
Hole size: 1mm (estimated).
Defects: As stated above, the beads appear to have been made in long cylinders which were then broken into smaller pieces.  However, the ends are not sharp, so they must have been tumbled after they were broken into pieces.
How photographed: At the window in natural daylight.
Comments: These strange little beads are from my 1980's stash (from when I was making jewelry).  I don't recall ever making anything out of them.  Since they appear to be broken into odd sizes (ranging from 2mm to 6mm long) with jagged ends, they sit a little unevenly when strung (but not very unevenly).  As stated above, these beads appear to have started life as long rectangular cylinders which were then broken into smaller pieces.  I'm not sure how you would use them in a design.

If you look at the large picture, you'll see these beads displayed loose on the left and strung on the right.
