Defects: |
Defects that are common to pearls include slight anomalies in the surfaces, and tags around the holes that have to be clipped off with nippers (although I don't see any of those problems in these pearls, so far). Pearls are synthetically coated, and I don't know how durable they are.

IMPORTANT: These beads have lightened while they sat on the shelf. They are still teal, but a much lighter shade, and now they have a silvery look. (The beads are now lighter than they appear in the picture.) I didn't know when I started buying pearls in 2002 that their color fades with time, especially if there is blue pigment in the coating. I have reduced the price to 1.50 per lot, which is about one-third of the original price. The beads will never entirely lose their color, but they will become lighter with time.
