Price per Lot: $3.50
Lots Available: 16
Item No. (bin): G2038 (cma~)

Style: 2038
Beads per lot: 50
Cost per bead: 7 cents
Bead material: Glass
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Size/shape: 7mm (from hole to hole) x 8mm (wide) spiral-shaped beads that look somewhat like snail shells; these beads are similar to nuggets and baroque beads.
Colors/description: Glass beads (probably a milky white) with a satiny, light-olive-green synthetic coating.  (When I say synthetic, I mean that the coating is polymer-based; the coatings on most other beads on this site are metal-based.)
Hole size: 1mm (estimated).
Defects: The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it is.  Some of the coating may be missing from around the holes of a few pearls, or there may be some roughness in the coating around the holes.  Sometimes there are little sharp tags of coating sticking out from around the holes; the best way to remove them is with cuticle nippers. There may also be some anomalies in the coating, such as bumps, indentations or a bit of dirt.  Because pearls are lustrous, defects generally aren't visible to the naked eye, but may be seen under a magnifying glass.
How photographed: At the window in natural daylight.
Comments: Pearls are hard to photograph because the reflections of light from the window appear exaggerated, so I had to do a lot of post-processing on the photo.  It came out fairly well, although the light reflections are still too intense.

I have these beads in the 6mm size.  The color of the beads match very well, although my pictures do not match.  The picture of the 6mm was fixed up using a CRT monitor, and I have now switched to an LCD monitor which shows colors a little differently.
