The beads appear to be in good shape, although I'm sure there are plenty of small imperfections that the eye can't see. I don't know how durable the coating is, but I have never known it to come off of the other 'Apollo' beads I have carried. It's possible that the coating is "fired" (i.e., heat-sealed) onto the beads, but I don't know that for certain.
