These are Preciosa cut crystal beads, not fire-polished beads. These beads are the Czech equivalent of Swarovski beads. The facets of these beads are much more perfect than you will find on fire-polished beads. I'm not sure that my picture got the color right. I take my pictures during the day in daylight, but then I fix up the pictures at night. At night, under my daylight-balanced lamps, the beads appear very dark, like garnets. But the pictures that came out of the camera showed the beads to be much lighter, a little like ruby red. (However, ruby red is a somewhat fuchsia, which these are not). What I did with my picture was I darkened it, but the beads are still not as dark as they appear to me. You should not order these beads unless you will be satisfied with medium-dark red beads or very dark red beads. |
