G935

Bead material:

glass

Czech Republic

Size/shape:

flat ovals with the hole at one end; they are 11.3mm long, 9mm wide, and 3.5mm thick

Colors/description:

opalescent white

Defects:

The beads appear to be in good shape.  I haven't noticed any defects, and they are nice and shiny.

Comments:

I really like these beads.  They are lightly opalescent, meaning that the white color in them is not dense or heavy.  Consequently, you can see a hint of blue, purple and yellow (and possibly other colors) in each bead.  Please note that the lentil shape is usually a disk (like a rondel) with the hole at one side.  Since these oval beads have the hole at one end, I am calling them "oval lentils", though lentil beans (from which the name is taken) are not an oval shape.  I felt that calling them "flat ovals" would be misleading.
