I haven't noticed any defects, but an occasional bead may have a defect in the synthetic coating, such as a small bubble.

Comments:

The picture isn't very good, since there's such a big light reflection on the beads.  Important:  I never noticed (until the beads were almost sold out) that the actual beads are slightly more greenish than the picture indicates.  Either my camera or my monitor is not reproducing colors accurately.
