Translucent dark ruby red; these beads are almost as dark as garnets, especially in low light.

Defects:

The beads appear to be in good shape, although when examined very, very closely, some surface defects are apparent.  I am saying this because the original picture, which was very large, showed some small defects that you really can't see with your eyes.
