Defects:

The acid that they used to turn the surface matte may have left some small pits in the glass.

Comments:

These beads are the same as the shiny 'tiger eye' bicone beads that I carry, but they have a matte finish.  These beads have a more vibrant color than is indicated in the picture.  Matte beads don't photograph well.
