Glass |
|
Country of

Czech Republic |
|
Size/shape: |
20mm
elongated flat ovals (eye-shaped); they are 8mm wide and 4mm thick.
The hole runs through the length. (I measured two of the beads and
they are actually 19.5 mm long.) |
|
Colors/description: |
Subtle stripes of opaque
pink satin
glass; some beads have areas
that are completely clear. |
|
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
|
Defects: |
Unlike the first lot of these beads, which I carried several years ago and
which was amazingly perfect, these beads are 35% defective.
That won't concern you since I am inspecting them individually and
eliminating the defective beads before shipping. If you inadvertently
get some defective beads (especially if they are cracked), please contact me for a partial refund.
Not all beads have perfect stripes. (See
comments below.) |
|
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
|
Comments: |
The pink in these beads is combined with clear glass. I believe,
though I'm not certain, that the manufacturer used clear glass (in
combination with the pink) because the clear glass is more viscous and
goes into the mold easier. Consequently, some beads have small areas
that are clear. I'm not eliminating those beads because they look
acceptable to me, and they are perfectly usable.
About the picture:
The picture is old and too dark. The actual beads are a little
lighter and brighter. The color is very nice. |
