Defects:

These beads look a little grayish on the surface; this is a common defect of matte beads, although not all of them have this problem.  My theory is that the acid they wash the beads in causes the color in the surface of the beads to be bleached, which makes it look gray.  The gray tinge isn't very noticeable in the photo, but it's there.  The first batch, which came from a different supplier, didn't have this problem.
