9mm flat squares, 4mm thick.  Actually, the beads measure about 8.5mm in length.

Colors/description:

Translucent tanzanite purple.  Many tanzanite beads are more bluish than this.  These are more amethyst than blue.

Hole size:

1mm (estimated).

Defects:

The large pictures straight out the camera showed all kinds of little defects on the surfaces of the beads, some of which may have been dust.  But to the naked eye, the defects aren't easy to see since the beads are smaller than they appear in the picture.  I removed many of the dust specks from the photograph, but I may have gone too far, removing defects that were actually part of the beads.  Overall, I would say that the beads look cleaner to the naked eye than they look in the picture.

Comments:

I call these 'tanzanite' mainly because the supplier calls them that, but true tanzanite is a purplish blue, not an amethyst purple, as these are.
