Bead
material: |
Glass |
|
Country of
origin: |
Czech Republic |
|
Size/shape: |
16mm (long) x 11mm (wide) x 5mm (thick) flat ovals. |
|
Colors/description: |
Satiny opaque grayish purple. Clear glass is used when the beads are
poured (probably because it is less viscous and helps to fill gaps), so
portions of some beads are entirely clear. |
|
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
|
Defects: |
The original large pictures from the camera seem to reveal that
many beads have small fissures in the glass, but I can't see any fissures
with my eyes. Consequently, I've concluded that what appears to be
fissures are actually light reflections. As noted above, some beads
have areas that are clear glass. Unless I can see right through the
bead, or see the hole running the entire length of the bead, I'm not
counting those beads (with clear glass) as defective.

How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
|
Comments: |
I wish that these beads were a richer purple. For some
reason, most of the purple that comes out of the Czech factories is
grayish. However, these beads would make a nice necklace for a
business suit. |
