Country of
origin: |
Czech Republic |

Size/shape: |
16mm (long) x 11mm (wide) x 5mm (thick) flat ovals. |
|
Colors/description: |
This is the Czech "blue tiger" or "blue lapis" color. It is black on
the inside and blue on the outside. The blue and black is layers to
make subtle satiny stripes. Clear glass is used when the beads are
poured (probably because it is less viscous and helps to fill gaps), so
portions of some beads are entirely clear. |
|
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
|
Defects: |
These are premium beads, and I am inspecting them before shipping.
If you enlarge the above photo, you'll see a couple dark beads on the
right which I might eliminate (but might not, depending on my judgement at
the time). (Before taking the picture above, I had already
eliminated the worst beads.) There are also a couple beads on the
left that look like they might have pits, and those would be eliminated.

How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |

Comments: |
I used to use the "blue lapis" name to describe this color, but I decided
they don't look enough like lapis. I love these satiny "tiger"
beads. |
