Bead
material: |
glass |
|
Country of
origin: |
Czech Republic |
|
Size/shape: |
6mm or 7mm barrel-shaped beads with
dimples on the sides (see comments below) |
|
Colors/description: |
Glass beads with a synthetic pearl
coating which is the lightest blue I have ever seen. |
|
Defects: |
The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it will be. Also, inevitably a few pearls will be missing their coating around
one of the holes (a common defect with Czech coated beads). A few pearls may also have some anomalies in the
coating, such as bumps, indentations or a bit of dirt. I have written a special page about glass pearls
and other coated beads; please click
here to read it. |

How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |

Comments: |
(1) As I post these beads, I can't find
my calipers, but these beads look larger than 6mm to me – I estimate 7mm. (2) The blue color of these beads
is so light that I can hardly see it. It is most apparent when the beads are put on a sheet of white paper.
(3) Under yellowish artificial light (such as the "warm" incandescent and fluorescent lighting that most people
use), the beads can look greenish. |
