Czech coated beads usually have a thin
coating; I don't know how durable it will be. On the other hand, the coating, being synthetic, is softer
than glass, and it may prevent the beads from chipping. Some beads may be missing a small amount of coating around the
holes. Added later: When I first
handled these beads, I noticed that they have more 'tags' and 'points'
around the holes than normal. Tags and points are small amounts of
synthetic coating that have formed what looks like a small hangnail or a
lump or point around one of the holes. The way to handle them is to
use cuticle nippers to delicately clip them off like you would clip off a
hangnail. |
