Colors/description: |
white beads with a synthetic coating of light blue or lilac (see below) with swirls of black running through the blue; many beads look mostly gray |
||
|
Defects: |
I don't know how durable the coating will be. A few beads may be missing their coating around one hole or the other; this defect is common with coated beads. I have written a special page about glass pearls and other coated beads; please click here to read it. |

How photographed: |
In the light tent with studio lights. |

Comments: |
About the color: The supplier calls these "lilac marble" beads, but they look more blue than lilac to me. The dominant color is actually gray. Each bead has a "pool" of black around one of the holes, from which the grayish swirls come. I don't know why the beads are made this way. About the photograph: The beads were photographed in the light tent, which always makes beads look dull. These beads actually have a shiny coating. |
