Czech Republic |

Size/shape: |
4mm cube-shaped.
They are 4mm from corner to corner, but only about 3.5mm from hole to
hole. |
|
Colors/description: |
Glass beads (probably white) with a
synthetic burgundy red pearl coating; burgundy red is a rich, dark red with purplish overtones. |
|
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
|
Defects: |
The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it
is. Inevitably a few pearls will be missing
some coating around
one of the holes, but those beads are often still usable. Sometimes
there are sharp little "tags" of coating sticking out around some of the
holes; the best way to remove them is with cuticle nippers. A few pearls may also have some anomalies in the
coating, such as small lumps or indentations. |
|
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
|
Comments: |
Despite all the so-called defects
mentioned above, the beads look very good to the naked eye, with a nice satiny surface. |
