Right out of the camera, the picture showed a bead with a chip, a bead with a crack, a bead with a dent, a bead with a pit, and what looks like some nicks.  I honestly don't know what percentage of beads have unacceptable defects – I am guessing 5%.  I lowered the price by 5%.

Comments:

These beads are not all a uniform size or shape, but that is part of their charm.  There is definitely a rustic quality to them.  About the picture:  The picture showed all kinds of white specks all over the beads.  I decided that those specks were dust, so I removed most of them.
