Country of
origin: |
Czech Republic |
|
Size/shape: |
8mm round, faceted. |
|
Colors/description: |
Clear beads with various colors sprayed on them. Even with a
magnifying glass, it is hard to tell what the colors are. I see blue
and bronze, but I also see fuchsia and possibly amethyst. The
supplier calls them "amethyst/blue", but I see more fuchsia than amethyst. |
|
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
|
Defects: |
I haven't noticed any significant
defects. However, fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets. To read about the
fire-polishing process, click here.
As for the coatings, I don't know if they are heat-sealed (fire-polished)
to the beads or not, but I don't see any evidence that they are coming
off. |
|
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
|
Comments: |
The mixture of colors in these beads is complex. The price for them
was fairly high – a few years ago, they would have cost 30% less.
That's undoubtedly due to the weak dollar. To keep the price down, I
gave them less than my usual markup. |
