Glass |
|

origin: |
Czech Republic |
|
Size/shape: |
6mm x 9mm faceted rondels. |

Clear glass with a mauve/gold coating on
the top and bottom of each bead; the facets tend to spread the mauve color throughout the entire bead. |
|
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
|
Defects: |
I haven't noticed any significant
defects. However, fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets. To read about the
fire-polishing process, click here. |
|
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
|
Comments: |
The way the beads are photographed (strands of beads next to each other)
causes them to look more intensely colorful than they are. If you
enlarge the above thumbnail photo by clicking on it, you'll see a strand
of beads on the left that looks less colorful. That's closer to the
way that they actually look. ¶ These beads look very similar to the
7mm x 10mm mauve fluted beads that I carried before but can no longer get. They are 1mm smaller in all
dimensions, but that makes them look substantially smaller than the fluted beads, so you may not be able to use
them in the same designs. |
