I haven't noticed any defects, although fire-polished beads usually have some imperfect facets.

Comments:

A customer asked me to get some matte faceted beads.  These beads are "lightly matted", meaning that the facets are a little shiny, especially in bright light.  I am guessing that the manufacturer washed the beads in a light acid solution to prevent the facets from being deformed, which might have happened if a heavy acid solution were used.
